Midwest GRIT
Midwest GRIT (Grains Resource & Immersive Training) was a beginning farmer training program for growers new to food grade grain production, offered through a partnership with Michael Fields Agricultural Institute (MFAI), Artisan Grain Collaborative (AGC), and The Organic Grain Resource and Information Network (OGRAIN), of University of Wisconsin-Madison. During its two years of programming, led by Christine Johnson of MFAI, 60 beginning farmers participated in more than 40 learning sessions.
The program has now concluded but its impact lives on as the Midwest Grainshed continues to grow and strengthen. Check out more resources to support your Grain Journey at michaelfields.org, graincollaborative.com, and ograin.cals.wisc.edu and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@MichaelFieldsAg
