SUMMARY:Diverse Farm Systems at Gwenyn Hill Farm
DESCRIPTION:Come see food grade grain harvest in action\, food grade grain and other grain storage considerations and discuss best practices\, and food grade grains within diversified veg systems.  \nGwenyn Hill Farm is nestled in the Kettle Moraine region of southeastern Wisconsin\, growing certified organic produce and practices regenerative agriculture\, maintaining the biodiversity of the fields and woodlands. The property was settled in 1842\, and it wasn’t until 2016 that the land transferred from family hands\, transitioned to organic\, and was named Gwenyn Hill Farm. In addition to diversified vegetable and grain production\, orchards and vineyards\, 430 acres are grazed by heritage breed chickens\, Red Devon cattle\, and Border Leicester and Cotswold sheep. Gwenyn Hill offers a 16 week CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program\, and you can find their produce every Saturday at the Brookfield Farmers Market\, May through October\, as well as at their on-site farmstand Tuesday through Sunday.  \nLinda Halley is the farm manager at Gwenyn Hill Farm\, an organic CSA-based diversified vegetable\, livestock\, and dairy farm near Milwaukee\, WI. Linda has a long history of working on and with farms\, but is new to grains. She will bring her long history of farm work and support experience\, and a deep interest in successfully incorporating food-grade grains on her own operation.
